Why it wants that
It is a rainforest floor-dweller that never sees the sky, so it is adapted to the little light that leaks through a canopy - and to air that is always wet.
Too little light
The leaves turn yellow and the pink or white vein network loses its contrast; the plant stops making new growth rather than stretching dramatically.
Too much
The leaves scorch - bleached patches that dry brown - and then shrivel and drop off the creeping stems, leaving bare runners.
