Why it wants that
Its leaves are thin, boldly patterned light-traps built for a Brazilian forest floor, and the nightly folding that gives the plant its name is a canopy-understorey behaviour, not a sunny-window one.
Too little light
The nightly folding becomes sluggish or stops and new leaves come in smaller with the dark banding faded, though no fetched source states this symptom.
Too much
Washed-out colouring or brown blotches on the leaves; NC State adds that excessive sun bleaches the leaf colours.
