Why it wants that
As a forest-floor germinator that climbs towards the canopy, it is adapted to the darkest part of the light gradient and only ever meets bright light already filtered through leaves.
Too little light
Lower leaves yellow and the growing tips die back, and the vine runs long and bare with widely spaced small leaves.
Too much
Direct sunlight burns the blades, leaving scorched patches and washed-out yellowing on the exposed upper leaves.
